I wanted to share one of our favorite toddler products that also happens to be safe, gentle and completely gluten free - I’m talking about Tubby Todd! If you haven’t heard of them, you need to check them out. Their products are soothing, *great* for super sensitive skin, and most importantly, all GF.
My kids have sensitive skin and Tubby Todd is a life saver. Last year when my youngest got a staph infection, the only lotion we trusted after treatment was the Tubby Todd Everyday Lotion, (below). After learning of our daughters Celiac diagnosis, our immediate focus was on food. However, after some time I realized that it’s best to avoid gluten in body and household products as well. I was so relieved to learn that Tubby Todd was completely GF. In addition to being deeply hydrating, it’s comforting to know it’s totally safe for her to use.
In the words of the company, (founded by a mother of four, no less) they are a “small, family-owned business..We’ve spent years formulating the perfect, natural products for sensitive skin, and will always be toxin, paraben, sulfate, artificial fragrance, BPA, and animal-cruelty free.” As it relates to gluten, Tubby Todd states, “our ingredients do not contain oats (with the exception of the All Over Ointment!) or gluten..We took extra care to source our colloidal oatmeal from the highest quality oats to ensure that it’s free of preservatives, gluten, and soy.” While the All Over Ointment does contain oats, they are GF oats!
For those with extra dry skin (ahem, my kids) I love the aforementioned All Over Ointment, above. It’s thick and nourishing, but still easy to apply. For many, rough, dry, and inflamed skin is a frequently encountered side effect of dealing with Celiac. It’s great to know you can reach for the Everyday Lotion or All Over Ointment to soothe our kids, or the adults in the home.
